You know that moment when you’re exhausted – but the second your head hits the pillow, your brain throws a party?
The to-do list. The worries. The random middle-school memories.
I’ve been there. And counting sheep never helped – but slowing my breath did.
That’s when I created this 10-minute bedtime yoga flow – no fancy poses, no pressure, just gentle movement and breath that tells your body, “It’s safe to rest now.”
Because when your nervous system feels calm, sleep stops being a struggle – it becomes natural again.
Step-by-Step: The 10-Minute “Sleep Easy” Flow
🕐 Duration: 10 minutes💡 Goal: Release tension, slow the mind, and activate the body’s natural sleep response.🪷 Tools: Bed or yoga mat, pillow, soft lighting.
1. Seated Shoulder Rolls (1 minute)
- Sit on your bed or mat.
- Inhale, lift shoulders to your ears; exhale, roll them down your back.
Releases the day’s tension held in the neck and shoulders.
2. Seated Side Stretch (1 minute)
- Place one hand on the bed, inhale the other arm up and over.
- Breathe into the ribs, then switch sides.
Expands the lungs and deepens the breath – your body’s natural sedative.
3. Gentle Cat-Cow (2 minutes)
- On hands and knees (or seated), inhale arching the spine, exhale rounding.
- Move slowly, linking motion to breath.
Massages the spine and helps the body transition from “go” to “rest.”
4. Seated Forward Fold (2 minutes)
- Sit tall, extend legs or cross them comfortably.
- Exhale as you fold forward and rest your head on a pillow or your arms.
Encourages full exhalation and signals the nervous system to let go.
5. Reclined Bound Angle Pose (2 minutes)
- Lie on your back, bring soles of the feet together, knees open.
- Place hands on belly and heart, feel your breath rise and fall.
Calms the mind and opens the hips – where emotional tension hides.
6. Legs-Up-the-Wall or Bed (2 minutes)
- Lie back and rest your legs on a wall or your headboard.
- Inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 6.
Reverses blood flow and releases fatigue from the legs – a natural grounding cue for sleep.

Closing Story (Encouragement)
The first night I tried this flow, I didn’t fall asleep – I melted into sleep.
It reminded me that my body already knows how to rest – I just needed to stop rushing it.
When you move gently before bed, you’re not forcing sleep – you’re inviting it.And it always accepts the invitation.
